Congratulations to the Varsity Soccer Teams winning the Mayor's Cup!




     The Wildcat Boys Varsity team beat Windham last night by a score of 2-1. Playing a scoreless first half, Windham scored the first tally of the game to make it 1-0. Michael Libby tallied our  first goal to tie the game, putting the Wildcats even 1-1.  Cody Wamsley scored the go ahead and winning goal to put the Wildcats up for good! The boys improve their record to 6-1, 2-1 in league play.


     The Wildcat Girls Varisty team beat Windham last night 4-0 with Kacie Hymers opened the scoring putting the girls up 1-0. Sarah Haight took over from their turning in her fourth hat trick of the season scoring the next three goals. The Lady Wildcats improve to 6-0, 3-0 in league play.



      The Varsity girls improved their record to 5-0, 2-0 in league play by downing Stamford 4-3. Sarah Haight had all four goals for the Lady Wildcats. The Varsity boys continued their winning ways, beating Stamford again 3-1. Kyle Moorby scored the first two goals with Michael Libby adding the third. The boys improve their record to 5-1, 1-1 in league play.



     The Wildcats won the Mayor's Cup bringing home both 1st place trophies Saturday night in a clean sweep of the Stamford Indians! The boys playing the early game edged out a tough Stamford Indian team 1-0 in a double overtime thriller. Kyle Beang scored the winning goal off of an assist by Matt Finne with 1:30 left in the second overtime to secure the victory! Chris Kopf had 6 saves in goal to record the shutout. The boys improve to 4-1 overall, 0-1 in league play.


  The Lady Wildcats won the Mayor’s Cup with a final score of 5-1 with a dominant second half of scoring.  The scoring started 20 minutes in with a shot from Sarah Haight off of a direct kick about 25 yards out.  The score at half time was 1-0.  In the second half the scoring started off of a direct corner kick from Emily Whipple; her first goal of the season 16 minutes in for a score of 2-0.  Two minutes later Kacie Hymers; also scoring her first goal of the season; out hustled a Stamford defender to win a loose ball and push it past the keeper.  In the 36th minute Stamford scored to make it 3-1.  Sarah Haight ended the night with a hat trick scoring her 2nd & 3rd goals of the night in the 37th and 39th minutes. 
The statistics of the game were 12 total shots and 5 corner kicks.  Jayra Blanton had 4 saves for the Lady Wildcats.  Awards were handed out at the end of the night with four CVCS players being named to the All-Star Tournament Team.  The four players were Jayra Blanton, Kassie Jeffers, Bailee Hymers and Sarah Haight.   This win moves the girls program to 4-0 overall and 1-0 in league play.  The Wildcats play on Thursday, September 13th at home vs Stamford in a league battle.

     The Wildcat Girls are now 3-0, 1-0 in league play. The game against Roxbury was postponed before the the start because of the thunderstorm. The game started at approximately 5:00 after a 45 minute delay. Sarah Haight had a hat trick for the Wildcats scoring all three goals. In the first half, she received a ball from Jenna Lutz, sweeper and scored putting the girls up 1-0. Later in the half, Sarah also scored on a PK from being taken out in the box. In the second half, she received a header from a Roxbury player which she then headed it thru to herself creating a 1 on 1 with the keeper and scored her third goal of the game giving her the hat trick. The Lady Wildcats next game is the Championship game of the Mayor's Cup at Archibald field in Stamford at 8 pm Saturday, September 8, 2012.

      The Wildcat Boys fell to 3-1, 0-1 in league play by losing a heart breaker to Roxbury 2-1 Thursday night. Corey Hartman scored the lone goal with the assist going to Kyle Beang. Chris Kopf had 7 saves in goal.



    The boys improved their record to 3-0 today with a 2-1 win over Schenevus. Michael Libby scored the first goal with Kyle Moorby scoring the second. Corey Hartman set both goals up, getting two assists on the day. Another hard fought victory for the Wildcat men. Chris Kopf, our 10th grade goalie stopped 5 Schenevus shots! Congratulations!



     Varsity girls played Roxbury Thursday night in the Stamford Mayor's Cup. They won 3-2 in overtime. Sarah Haight scored on a penalty kick a few minutes into the second half. Kassie Jeffers then scored on a cross from Sarah to tie the game at 2-2 forcing an overtime. In the second half of overtime, Emily Whipple played thru a ball to Sarah for the winning goal. The girls will play in the Championship round Saturday, September 8th at 8:00 p.m. They currently have a record of 2-0.  Their next game is Thursday, September 6th at 4:15 home against Roxbury.

     In the nightcap, the Boys met with success again, beating Delhi 3-2 in regulation. Both  teams will play in the Mayor's Cup Tournament Final next Saturday, the 8th of September. Coach Moorby let us know that the boys worked really hard. Corey Hartman led the scoring charge with two goals, Cody Wamsley scored his first Varsity goal and Kyle Moorby had two assists.  The boys will play in the Championship round Saturday, September 8th at 6:00 p.m. Currently their record is 2-0 with their next game being Saturday, September 1st starting 11:00 a.m. at Schenevus.
