What is the school
going to do?
The District is in constant contact and receives
correspondence routinely concerning the flu and the coronavirus from NYSED and
the Department of Health. On March 13th
we, along with other schools in our BOCES, will meet to discuss in depth what
might be the possible scenario if the Coronavirus makes its way to our
region. The district will continue to
clean and disinfect our building and buses as part of our daily routine. We will monitor student illnesses and stay in
contact with the Department of Health and follow their guidelines if it does
work its way here.
What do we need you
to do?
Disinfect backpacks, wash jackets, hats and gloves. Keep your child home if they are exhibiting
flu like symptoms, stomach ache, vomiting, or fever. Please contact Mrs. Losie,
our school nurse, if these symptoms occur so we can keep track of student
illness. Be diligent, clean and wash
your hands for 20 seconds each time, take precautions and stay away from areas
that have the flu or the Coronavirus.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at
607 278-5511.
Please
continue to remind your students, staff and parents that the best methods to
reduce their risk of COVID-19 and other influenza are to:
= Wash your hands
often, using soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
= Avoid touching
your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
= Avoid close
contact with people who are sick, stay at least 6 feet apart.
= Stay home when
you are sick. If you have symptoms of COVID-19 contact your health care
provider or hospital BEFORE going.
= Cover your cough
and sneeze with a tissue, then immediately dispose of the tissue.
= Clean and
disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces at least daily.
This is a
good CDC handwashing video which can be shared with them.
