Dear Charlotte Valley Community,
We have made it to the halfway point of the 2020-2021 school year. This school year has brought numerous challenges for all stakeholders of our school. I appreciate your flexibility, patience, and understanding during the pandemic and how schools are functioning.
At this time, I’d like to make you aware of a few announcements. First, report cards will be delayed by a few days. We have never been remote during midterms and to accommodate this challenge, teachers will be turning in grades by Friday, February 5th. Report cards should go home by next Friday, February 12th.
Also, CVCS will be conducting lockdown drills over the next few months. This year, we will be able to discuss what students will do whenever a lockdown is called. The teachers will have dedicated time and dates to share this information with our students. The difference this year is to keep students socially distanced as much as possible, and this is the guidance offered to allow us to complete the drills.
Finally, I would like to share a concern for our students. Now that is it mid-year, it has come to our attention that student backpacks are very heavy, especially for our little Wildcats. Please help your child(ren) look through and clean out their backpacks. On our end, we will look into online textbooks, smaller binders, and anything else to help ease the load. I appreciate your feedback throughout the year.
In addition, now that the announcement has been made about Athletics, we will be rallying our class advisors and bringing Wildcat Spirit back to our students in creative, fun, and socially distant ways. We understand how difficult this school year has been for our Wildcats, and we will strive to bring as much joy as possible to finish the school year strong!
